On The Moments Of The Time To Ruin Distribution When The Initial Reserve Is Large And Claim Amount Distribution Is Two Stage Hypo Exponential Distribution
Authors
Abstract:
In any classical risk model one of the important random variable is time to ruin. As time to ruin warns the management for possible adverse situations that may arise, the distribution of time to ruin place a vital role in the day to day transactions of the any insurance company. Moments of the distribution are also important as coefficient of skewness of the distribution is very important in actuarial science. The results developed are applied to a real life situation. Data was collected on the amount of claims from the offices and agents of the General Insurance Company situated in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State in India. And for that data suitable distribution for the claim amount was fitted and found that the best suited distribution is two state exponential. This paper is on the distribution of time to ruin and its moments of the time to ruin for large values of the initial reserve when claim amount distribution is two stage hypo exponential distribution and further analyzed using the theoretical developments made in this paper.

full textSkew-t distribution is an appropriate alternative for the weighted exponential distribution
In this manuscript first a brief introduction to the Skew-t and Weighted exponential distributions is considered and some of their important properties will be studied. Then we will show that the Skew-t distribution is prefered to the Weighted exponential distribution in fitting by using the real data. Finally we will prove our claim by using the simulation method.

15 صفحه اولOn the ruin time distribution for a Sparre Andersen process with exponential claim sizes
We derive a closed-form (infinite series) representation for the distribution of the ruin time for the Sparre Andersen model with exponentially distributed claims. This extends a recent result of Dickson et al. [7] for such processes with Erlang inter-claim times. We illustrate our result in the cases of gamma and mixed exponential inter-claim time distributions.
